Removing the Windows 10 Upgrade Nag Icon
Category : Uncategorized
Microsoft has now made the “Upgrade to Windows 10” an important update instead of a optional update. There are some people out there that are content to run Windows 7 and not upgrade. After all, Windows 7 will be supported until Jan. 14, 2020 (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/lifecycle).
If you’re tired of seeing the Windows 10 upgrade notification, you can remove it. Launce Control Panel, Click on Programs or Programs and Features, and in the left side of the screen hit the “View installed updates” section. Look for KB3035583 in the list, right-click it and choose the remove option. That will get rid of the nag but it will come back if you do the update again. You can right click on the update and choose hide this update and it won’t install it. Hopefully this will help some of you out there that do not want to upgrade.
